Description
African Arowana
Africa is home to the bonytongue species known as the Nile Arowana (Heterotis niloticus). The African arowana is more closely related to arapaimas, the only other members of the Arapaimidae family, than it is to the South American, Asian, and Australian arowanas in the Osteoglossidae family (Arapaimidae is occasionally included in Osteoglossidae). The only one with a more terminal mouth and the biggest plankton consumption rate among the others is the African Arowana. Our commitment to quality and the environment ensures your enjoyment. We are a freshwater stingray, freshwater Tropicana fish, and Asian arowana breeder and exporter, accredited by ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.
Bigger fish, starting at two to three inches, are usually much easier to feed and will take well-prepared meals. Because they are peaceful aquarium fish, they frequently do not act aggressively toward other fish in the tank. Like all Arowana, they are expert jumpers, therefore they need to be covered at all times.

Cover the light source with a layer of floating vegetation to diffuse the light. Maintain the open swimming areas and use large plants as the background. The tank should be arranged with dark colors.
Water chemistry:
pH 6.7-7.5 (7.0), 4-12 dH (9), 75-86°F (24-30°C)
